Wanna be a star? Don't apply here

The popularity of reality television in the United Kingdom is sending droves of people to apply to drama school. Getting into a prestigious London acting school has become arguably as tough as getting into the elite Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. Fuelled by the wave of reality television programming, London's Central School of Speech and Drama received over 4,000 applicants for fewer than 40 spots. At least 3,000 of those applications were discarded immediately. Central, which has trained the likes of Lawrence Olivier and Vanessa Redgrave, says: don't bother calling them if you want to be a star. Siddhartha Dubey reports.
